My name is Jan-Willem Polman sailor and mechanical engineer specialised in synthetics technology. From 2008 to 2010 I sailed around the world with my wife and two young children. In the past 10 years I have spliced ropes for many yachts and I'm organising workshops and courses about splicing modern ropes. Especially for rope splicing I developed the D-Splicer needles that are widely used by sailors and riggers.

This online workshop rope splicing is very easy to follow. This is partly due to the setup used with multiple cameras. During the workshop, you will receive very useful tips. Your progress, and that of other participants, can be seen because photos are shared. This makes it very interactive and a lot of fun. Definitely a must for those who are beginners and advanced!

The board of the X-Yachts Club Nederland went looking for digital events and ended up with Premium Ropes. Together we organized an interactive workshop. In these webinars members could learn how to splice modern ropes from home. After a short explanation of the various lines and their applications, we started splicing. Due to Jan-Willem’s patience, everyone eventually managed to make the splits and knots and proudly display them. In short, a fun and educational workshop, where we could also meet again (digitally).
